Search engines (especially Google) love unique content and have the tendency to ignore and even ban (in extreme cases) websites that only copy and paste content from other. Writing often will only make people return on your site, especially if you are writing well and you post good images or videos.
Target your posts to dedicated keywords
When the crawlers and spides are indexing your articles they are looking for words they are repeating, for the keys that can represent the real subject of the post. It's important not to repeat the selected keywords very often because they will be ignored and the post (or even the website of the method is repeated in too many posts) will be penalized. Keep these keywords as tags for your post (I'll treat them later in this article).

The main reason for this is that you can create great web sites and you can write great content writing for them, it’s useless unless the rest of the world (I mean the rest of the internet) know about them. Using links, pings and trackbacks you'll promote your site over internet, a better promotion will bring you more and more visitors.
Tag your posts and articles
Actually this part won't create distinct sections of your website, but will gather all the post and articles about a subject to one different page. Every new tag will add a page to your website, in time this will only increas the prestige of your website for the search engines and it will bring more views (this part is essential when you have advertisement on your website and you are paid for CPM - cost per mille).

Social bookamarking sites have thousands or millions of users, sharing or/and digging for interesting information. Sharing your content of your website on social bookmarking sites will increase the chance to find more people from all around the world interested by what you are writing and posting (images and videos).
Use Search Engine Optimization and keep your site in the same maner
Keep your website optimized for the search engines and do it for all the pages of your websited. It does not look good for the spiders and crawlers to index in different ways different pages of a site, even a human visitor won't realise the difference.
Create backlings to your website
It makes your web site to be find easier, both by search engines and human visitors. Don't create backlinks only to the index page, create them to various pages in your site to help crawlers index your site and humans to find out more about the content of the websites, things that can not be seen on the usual landing page (the index).
Use images and videos
Your text content might be great, but a lot of people will not have the patience to read all of it, especially when the articles are long. Use images and videos to improve the quality of your content (it's said that an image woth 1000 words) and to make people to watch interesting things, not only to read about them.
